Using Iriun with OBS Studio

Add your phone as a sharp camera source in OBS for streaming or recording, in a few steps.

Difficulty: Beginner

OBS Studio treats Iriun like any other webcam, so adding your phone as a camera source takes only a moment once Iriun is running.

  1. Start Iriun first. Launch the desktop client and connect your phone so the feed is live before opening OBS.
  2. Add a source. In OBS, under Sources, click the plus and choose "Video Capture Device."
  3. Select Iriun. Name the source, then pick "Iriun Webcam" from the Device dropdown.
  4. Set resolution. Match the resolution to your phone's output for the cleanest image, and position the source on your canvas.
Tip: For multi-camera setups, Iriun can serve as a sharp face cam alongside a screen capture. Use USB if you're streaming for a long session to keep latency steady.

If Iriun doesn't appear in the device list, close and reopen OBS after starting the client — see the troubleshooting guide.
